After notching their fourth consecutive CCAA conference tournament title last week, the UCSD Baseball team’s season came to an end with two losses to Dixie State in the first round of the West Regional tournament.

With the regular season and CCAA tournament title in tow, the UCSD baseball team now heads up North to Keizer, Oregon where they will face off against Dixie State in the first round of the West Regionals.

After going 5-10 to end the regular season the UCSD Baseball team seems to be peaking in the postseason, as the Tritons claimed the CCAA tournament title.

The UCSD baseball team looks to defend the CCAA title this weekend, May 10 to May 12 on its home field.

Last week, April 26 to 28, the UCSD baseball team clinched a share of the regular season CCAA title with a series split with Cal State Los Angeles.
Ending the season with a 26-14 conference record, the Tritons share the conference crown with 26-14 Chico State.

The Tritons finished CCAA regular season play last weekend, April 26 to 28 with a home-and-away series against Cal State Los Angeles.

UCSD 2, CSU San Bernardino 3

            In the first game of the four game series on Thursday, April 19, senior pitcher Tony York picked up his first loss of the season.

The Tritons moved back into the national rankings this week after taking three of their four games against CSU Dominguez Hills.

After an overhaul of the Triton coaching staff, which saw 14-year tenured head coach Dan O’Brien’s departure for a coaching position at Division I Santa Clara, UCSD logged a sluggish start to the 2012 campaign. The Tritons quickly dropped out of the national rankings after suffering losses to West Region rivals Western Oregon and formerly No. 10 nationally ranked Chico State.

UCSD graduate Tim Shibuya continues to impress on the mound. The two-time All-American, 2011 West Region Pitcher of the Year was picked by the Twins in the 23rd round of the First-Year Player Draft upon graduation in 2011.
