CSU Admission Guaranteed for Transfer Students
To increase access to California’s higher education system, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed two bills — SB 1440 and AB 2302 — last Wednesday that guarantees admission into the California State University system for community college students who complete a restructured transfer degree.

Changing to a New Channel
Last night, the Campus Affairs committee meeting unanimously passed a series of amendments to Triton Television’s charter, including broadcast regulations that limit what can be said on air. Of course, this isn’t the only change that TTV is undergoing.

A.S. Council Hires Temp Employees
A week after A.S. Council first met to appoint the 2010-11 associate vice presidents, one of the three remaining positions is still unfilled — leaving the council to enter next year without a full cabinet of 10 AVPs in charge of managing various aspects of student life.

Co-ops Ask for Funds to Hire Help
The three UCSD student co-ops requested funds from the A.S. council last week, in order to hire a certified public accountant to organize their financial records. Councilmembers agreed to pay a third of the cost.

Gov. Promises More Funds to California Universities
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced April 27 that he will refuse to sign any state budget that does not contain increased funding for California’s public colleges. The budget will be submitted to the state legislature by May 14.
