Making NCAA Nationals My Home

I have been to the NCAA Track & Field Championships three times and I’ll be leaving this Tuesday for my fourth. My freshman year, I barely made the grade, getting in by the skin of my teeth and finishing not much better, but as for the past two years, I have made Nationals my home.

Triton Women Place Second, Men Third at CCAAs

Last weekend, May 2 to May 5, the UCSD Track and Field team took part in CCAA conference meet at CSU Los Angeles’ Jesse Owens Stadium. The Triton men took third while the women took second to cap off an exciting regular season.

UCSD Hosts Annual Triton Invitational

         This past weekend, April 27 to 28, the UCSD Track and Field complex hosted both collegiate and international athletes in the annual Triton Invitational.

TRACK & FIELD —Last Thursday, April 19-21, the Tritons split themselves between the Mount Sac Relays in Walnut, California and the seventh annual Soka Peace Invitational.

Triton Women Post High Marks at Pomona

Saturday, April 14 the Triton Track and Field team traveled to Pomona where it competed in the annual Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
This past weekend, April 6 to April 7, the Triton Track and Field team split itself between the Mangrum Invitational and the 33rd Annual Arizona State Sun Angel Invitational.

Record Weekend


This past weekend, Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1 the UCSD Track and Field team headed to the annual Cal-Nevada Invitational track meet. The meet, now going strong for two decades, attracts more than 80 percent of collegiate track teams from across California and Nevada. Only the top 27 athletes in each event qualify to participate, so for UCSD, a large field of Division I schools made for a high level of competition.

    The Tritons battled throughout the game, culminating in a big three run homer off the bat of first baseman Richard Siegel in the fourth inning.

Track Shows Strong at All-Cal



TRACK & FIELD — The UCSD Track & Field team came out big on Saturday in the All-Cal Invitational. The Tritons posted a third place finish for the women and a second place finish for the men, who squeaked into second place by only three points on the very last event of the day.
