The UCSD men’s soccer team ended its season with an inspired four-game winning streak, finishing just two points away from the conference championships.

Ranked sixth in a twelve-team conference, a string of close losses has eliminated the men’s soccer team from any chance at a postseason.

Against nationally-ranked opposition, the UCSD men’s soccer team dropped two more games this weekend.

Despite three commanding wins leading up to their northern road trip on Friday, the men’s soccer team fell 2-1 to Chico State, and on Sunday lost 2-1 to CSU Stanislaus in double overtime.

On Friday, deep into the second half of a game still drawn 0-0, the Tritons continued to chip away at a crumbling Monterey Bay back line.

Both the UCSD men’s and women’s soccer teams collected wins in their first conference home games.
